Birthday - a sad day or a day of celebration?

January was a month with a lot of birthdays - including my. One year older...A little feeling of loss did show up, but I didn't feel the same level of sadness as when I turned 30. I just tried not to care too much about it (I really tried...). Maybe we should all just stop thinking about the age and just see it as a celebration of life...(at least we get a cake and presents which are things I always care for...).

As a part of my birthday gift I went to watch the movie 'Avatar'. A movie that I had wanted to check out for a while. Since somebody had to take care of the baby my husband couldn't join me. I was not alone though since almost everyone in the city also wanted to know what the movie was about. Lucky me I did book a ticket second time...(I learned the lesson the first time).
I chose to watch 'Avatar' in 3D. Without the 3D it would just been a movie that you have seen before. However, with the 3D you felt that you were there...on Pandora. So beautiful...I must say that 'Avatar' was too long and wearing the 3D glasses for 3 hours did feel unpleasant. But after all I am glad that I could go and watch the movie. It was a great experience.

Even though I went to the movie theather by myself, the best way of celebrating a birthday is, however, to be together with someone you love. I think (and I did...).
In the end a birthday is not about how long time you have left in your life but about the day you were born! If we all remember that it would always be a day of celebration.
